Contract: Clinical Portal & Integration Engine

Details

Buyer:
North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT)
Department:
Procurement and Contracts
Title:
Clinical Portal & Integration Engine
Description:
Clinical Portal & Integration Engine Contract Description The sourcing route is a Further Competition amongst all capable suppliers’ party to the Crown Commercial Services Commoditised IT Hardware and Software, RM721, Lot 3 - Specialist Channel Partners for Software for the Provision of Clinical Portal & Integration Engine Services. The Further Competition is not available to any other organisation. The requirements for this ITT have been divided: 1) Integration Engine, 2) Clinical Portal. You must respond against both sets of requirements in your bid. The Trust is proceeding with the procurement of a Clinical Portal and Integration Engine to achieve three critical business benefits: • The immediate benefit of improving access to patient information held across diverse systems – compiling the information into a singular view • Realising the ability to extend the reach of clinicians to electronic systems whose current functionality is beyond the scope of an EPR system • Provision of a framework to link to systems currently out of scope e.g. Acute to ensure long term access to wider health and social care data The Trust is focussed on developing new ways of working that will improve patient outcomes through agile working and the provision of a robust mobile working solution. NELFT has invested in an ambitious IT programme to augment the current infrastructure which will support the delivery of patient care. The aim of this procurement is to provide NELFT with an affordable clinical portal system which will equip the organisation with the necessary foundation with which it can achieve the integrated and enhanced working environments outlined above from late 2014 onwards. The aim of a clinical portal is to support clinicians, other healthcare and management professionals in making informed decisions relating to patient care by allowing vital patient data stored on a variety of independent systems, to be called up in a singular view in real-time. The provision of a simple, clear and instant view of essential information not limited by location and/or current system access will be of invaluable benefit in enhancing and streamlining the patient’s pathway through care. A Clinical Portal will improve the following key stakeholder experiences; • The Patient Experience - empowered through obtaining complete care related information from acute hospitals and GPs for each care episode. • The Clinician Experience - empowered through better and more sophisticated technology to focus on care • The Management Experience - empowered via efficient, cost effective, processes, better information & intelligence and greater utilisation of resources • The Partner Experience - empowered via better communications
